Japans Nikkei kletterte um 1,6 % und ist auf dem besten Weg zu einem rekordverdächtigen Quartalsgewinn von mehr als 38 %. Südkoreas KOSPI stieg um 3 %, mit einem bemerkenswerten Zuwachs von 71 % im zweiten Quartal, nachdem er sich seit Jahresbeginn mehr als verdoppelt hatte, was vor allem von Halbleiterunternehmen angetrieben wurde.

Der stärkere US-Dollar steuert auf seinen vierten Quartalsgewinn in Folge zu, da die Anleger ihre Erwartungen aufgrund robuster US-Wirtschaftsdaten und der anhaltenden Inflation von Zinssenkungen auf mögliche Zinserhöhungen verlagerten.

Die Dollar-Rallye drückte Gold in Richtung des größten Quartalsverlusts seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt, während der japanische Yen auf 162,41 Yen pro Dollar abwertete – den niedrigsten Stand seit 40 Jahren. Die japanische Finanzministerin Satsuki Katayama erklärte, dass die Behörden weiterhin bereit seien, bei Bedarf einzugreifen.
