UBS ist der Ansicht, dass der jüngste Ausverkauf von Momentum-Aktien kurz vor dem Ende steht, was den Weg für Anleger ebnet, schrittweise zu KI- und Halbleitertiteln zurückzukehren.

Der jüngste Rückzug bei den Momentum-Aktien könnte laut UBS bald an Schwung verlieren. Die Handelsabteilung der Bank erklärt, dass sich verbessernde Fundamentaldaten im Bereich der künstlichen Intelligenz den Anlegern die Möglichkeit bieten, ihre Positionen in diesem Sektor langsam wieder aufzubauen.

Die Prime-Brokerage-Daten von UBS zeigen, dass Hedgefonds ihre Long-Positionen in Momentum- und Halbleiteraktien um etwa 5 % des Bruttomarktwerts reduziert haben, was einen der größten Rückgänge in der Geschichte darstellt. Infolgedessen sind die Nettopositionierungen in Halbleiter- und Softwareaktien wieder auf das Niveau von April zurückgekehrt.

Michael Romano, Leiter des Hedge Fund Equity Derivative Sales bei UBS, sagte, Anleger sollten den Kursrückgang zum Einstieg nutzen, aber nichts überstürzen. Er empfiehlt, das Engagement schrittweise auszubauen, anstatt große Käufe auf einmal zu tätigen.

Der Momentum-Korb von UBS umfasst Sandisk, Broadcom, Oracle, KKR, Datadog und Microsoft.

Romano erwartet zudem, dass die Momentum-Bereinigung bis Ende Juli ihren Tiefpunkt erreichen wird, falls dies nicht bereits geschehen ist. Am Freitag drehte der Momentum-Indikator der UBS kräftig und drehte innerhalb von zwei Stunden von einem Verlust von 3,5 % ins Plus von 2,5 %, was ein Zeichen dafür ist, dass das Kaufinteresse zurückkehren könnte.

Eine Erholung der KI- und Momentum-Aktien könnte Gelder von den jüngsten Gewinnern wie Banken, Industrie- und anderen zyklischen Sektoren abziehen. Laut UBS war ein Großteil der jüngsten Käufe in diesen Bereichen eher auf Short-Squeezes (Eindeckungen von Leerverkäufen) als auf neue langfristige Investitionen zurückzuführen.

Für Trader deutet der Bericht darauf hin, dass sich die Marktführerschaft wieder in Richtung KI- und Halbleiteraktien verschieben könnte, wenn sich das Momentum weiter verbessert. Eine schrittweise Positionierung kann helfen, das Risiko zu managen und gleichzeitig von einer potenziellen Erholung zu profitieren.
