Nach einer starken Rallye im Jahr 2025 erlitt Gold im März einen Ausverkauf von 13 %, den größten monatlichen Rückgang seit der Finanzkrise von 2008, und ist seit Ausbruch des Iran-Kriegs um 24 % eingebrochen.

Zusätzlich zu den vorsichtigen Aussichten prognostizierte Citigroup kürzlich, dass Gold bis September um weitere 20 % fallen könnte.
