El mercado de valores de Nigeria ha registrado los mejores rendimientos del mundo este año, superando a Corea del Sur a medida que los inversores se alejan de las operaciones impulsadas por la IA para centrarse en historias de reforma y mercados vinculados a las materias primas.

El índice de referencia nigeriano ha ganado un 67% en términos de dólares este año, situándose ligeramente por delante del rendimiento del 66% del Kospi, según datos de Bloomberg que cubren 92 bolsas de valores mundiales.

El mercado de Corea del Sur ha perdido impulso tras surgir dudas sobre si la demanda de acciones de inteligencia artificial puede seguir respaldando las valoraciones. El Kospi entró en un mercado bajista técnico esta semana, cayendo un 22% desde su máximo del 19 de junio.

El won surcoreano también se ha debilitado un 5% este año, convirtiéndose en la cuarta moneda con peor rendimiento en Asia.

Nigeria se ha movido en la dirección opuesta. El mercado se ha visto impulsado por las reformas económicas, el aumento de los precios del petróleo y una mejor liquidez de divisas. El naira se ha fortalecido un 4% desde enero.

El optimismo de los inversores también mejoró tras conocerse la noticia de que S&P Dow Jones Indices está considerando elevar a Nigeria a la categoría de mercado frontera.

Las compañías financieras han liderado el repunte, con Fortis Global Insurance Plc ofreciendo un asombroso rendimiento del 1.400% en términos de dólares.

Los analistas también señalan la posible cotización futura de Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals como otro factor que atrae el interés de los inversores.
