Los mercados estadounidenses entran en una semana acortada por festivos con tres grandes preguntas en el aire para los inversores: ¿Podrá la inflación obligar a la Reserva Federal a subir las tasas en septiembre? ¿Merece la pena la expansión de IA de Oracle con la deuda adquirida? ¿Y cuánto más pueden subir los costos de la energía?

El Nasdaq cayó un 0,3%, el S&P 500 bajó un 0,4% y el Dow perdió un 0,5% el viernes.

La mayor prueba económica llegará el viernes con el IPC de agosto. Los empleadores estadounidenses crearon 162.000 puestos de trabajo en agosto, muy por encima de los 55.000 previstos. Esto reforzó la postura a favor de una política monetaria más estricta, aunque las apuestas por una subida de tasas solo variaron ligeramente.

El presidente de la Reserva Federal, Kevin Warsh, ha insistido repetidamente en la importancia de la estabilidad de precios. La inflación se ha mantenido por encima del objetivo del 2% de la Reserva Federal durante aproximadamente cinco años.

Antes del IPC, el informe del IPP del jueves ofrecerá otra perspectiva sobre las presiones de los precios.

Oracle presenta sus resultados el jueves. Sus acciones han caído casi un 20% este año y casi un 30% en los últimos 12 meses, y los inversores vigilan de cerca su expansión de centros de datos financiada con deuda. Bank of America prevé que los ingresos de IaaS de Oracle aumenten un 25% intertrimestral y un 116% interanual.
