Après Ormuz, l'Iran prévient qu'une autre voie maritime critique pourrait être la prochaine

De nouvelles menaces de l'Iran et la reprise des actions militaires américaines font craindre des perturbations accrues de l'approvisionnement énergétique mondial et des voies maritimes.

Les tensions entre les États-Unis et l'Iran ont franchi un nouveau palier mercredi après que l'Iran a averti qu'il pourrait cibler d'autres voies maritimes clés suite à la fermeture du détroit d'Ormuz. Les derniers développements ont poussé les prix du pétrole à la hausse, les traders se préparant à de nouvelles perturbations de l'approvisionnement.

Le Corps des gardiens de la révolution islamique (CGRI) d'Iran a déclaré que « tous les autres corridors d'exportation qui profitent aux États-Unis et à leurs alliés » pourraient également être perturbés, affirmant que les exportations d'énergie régionales devraient être accessibles à tous ou à personne.

Selon les analystes, l'Iran pourrait s'appuyer sur ses alliés houthis au Yémen pour menacer le détroit de Bab el-Mandeb, une voie cruciale reliant la mer Rouge et le golfe d'Aden. Ce passage gère les exportations de pétrole saoudien et une grande partie du transport maritime mondial.

Un haut responsable houthi a prévenu en début de semaine que la fermeture de Bab el-Mandeb pourrait faire grimper les prix du pétrole jusqu'à 200 dollars le baril si l'Arabie saoudite poursuit ses opérations militaires au Yémen.

Cet avertissement intervient après que les États-Unis ont lancé une nouvelle vague de frappes ciblant des sites militaires iraniens près du détroit d'Ormuz. Selon le Commandement central des États-Unis, l'opération de sept heures a touché des dizaines de cibles militaires après que Washington a accusé l'Iran d'avoir attaqué sept navires commerciaux la semaine dernière, faisant près d'une douzaine de morts, de blessés ou de disparus parmi les membres d'équipage.

Par ailleurs, le président Donald Trump a prévenu que les États-Unis pourraient frapper les centrales électriques et les ponts de l'Iran la semaine prochaine à moins que Téhéran ne revienne à la table des négociations.

RÉACTION DU MARCHÉ

Les prix du pétrole ont accentué leurs gains après avoir progressé de 2 % mardi pour atteindre un plus haut d'un mois. Le Brent a atteint son niveau le plus élevé depuis le 12 juin, tandis que le West Texas Intermediate (WTI) a grimpé à son niveau le plus fort depuis le 15 juin, les deux références orientées à la hausse lors des premiers échanges de mercredi.

POURQUOI C'EST IMPORTANT

Le détroit d'Ormuz et le détroit de Bab el-Mandeb sont deux des points de passage énergétiques les plus importants au monde. Toute perturbation prolongée pourrait resserrer l'offre de pétrole, augmenter les coûts de transport et alimenter la volatilité sur les marchés des matières premières, des devises et des actions.

Les marchés suivront de près si les actions militaires s'étendent davantage, si l'Iran met à exécution ses menaces contre d'autres voies maritimes, et si des pourparlers diplomatiques peuvent éviter un conflit régional plus large.
