Le marché boursier du Nigéria a enregistré les meilleurs rendements mondiaux cette année, dépassant la Corée du Sud à mesure que les investisseurs se détournent des transactions axées sur l'IA pour s'orienter vers des histoires de réformes et des marchés liés aux matières premières.

Les actions nigérianes sont devenues le marché boursier le plus performant au monde en 2026, battant l'indice Kospi de la Corée du Sud en termes de rendements en dollars.

L'indice de référence nigérian a progressé de 67 % en dollars cette année, devançant légèrement le rendement de 66 % du Kospi, selon les données de Bloomberg couvrant 92 bourses mondiales.

Le marché sud-coréen a perdu de sa dynamique après l'apparition de doutes quant à la capacité de la demande d'actions liées à l'intelligence artificielle à continuer de soutenir les valorisations. Le Kospi est entré dans un marché baissier technique cette semaine, chutant de 22 % par rapport à son sommet du 19 juin.

Le won sud-coréen s'est également affaibli de 5 % cette année, ce qui en fait la quatrième devise la moins performante d'Asie.

Le Nigéria a pris la direction opposée. Le marché a été porté par les réformes économiques, la hausse des prix du pétrole et l'amélioration de la liquidité des devises étrangères. Le naira s'est apprécié de 4 % depuis janvier.

Le sentiment des investisseurs s'est également amélioré suite à l'annonce selon laquelle S&P Dow Jones Indices envisage de reclasser le Nigéria au statut de marché frontière.

Les sociétés financières ont mené le rallye, Fortis Global Insurance Plc affichant un rendement phénoménal de 1 400 % en dollars.

Les analystes soulignent également l'éventuelle future cotation de Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals comme un autre facteur d'attraction pour les investisseurs.

Réaction du marché

Ce changement met en évidence la demande croissante des investisseurs pour les marchés liés aux matières premières et aux réformes économiques, tandis que l'enthousiasme pour les actions liées à l'IA continue de s'essouffler.
