Choc pétrolier en vue ? L'Iran menace de bloquer les exportations du Golfe

Une nouvelle vague de sanctions remet l'accent sur les flux de brut au Moyen-Orient, les traders surveillant de près le détroit d'Ormuz.

Les États-Unis préparent ce que le secrétaire au Trésor Scott Bessent a qualifié de « plus grande offensive financière jamais déployée » contre l'Iran, tandis que Téhéran a menacé d'interrompre ses exportations de pétrole si la pression économique continue.

Cette escalade intervient alors que le conflit entamé il y a six mois reste non résolu et que le transport maritime à travers le détroit d'Ormuz fait face à d'importantes perturbations.

DÉTAILS CLÉS

Bessent devrait annoncer des sanctions plus sévères visant l'Iran et les pays qui continuent de commercer avec son économie. Le président Donald Trump a également menacé de sanctions les partenaires commerciaux de l'Iran.

Le responsable iranien Mohsen Rezaei a prévenu qu'« pas une seule goutte » de pétrole ne serait exportée par le détroit d'Ormuz ou ailleurs dans le golfe Persique si la guerre économique se poursuit.

Cette voie d'eau est particulièrement cruciale pour les marchés de l'énergie, environ un cinquième de l'approvisionnement mondial en pétrole y transitant historiquement.

RÉACTION DU MARCHÉ

Les prix du pétrole ont fléchi avant l'annonce américaine, les traders ayant pris leurs bénéfices après deux hausses hebdomadaires consécutives.

Le Brent a perdu 1,23 $, soit 1,3 %, à 93,16 $, tandis que le WTI a baissé de 1,36 $, soit 1,6 %, à 85,70 $.

Parallèlement, l'offre au Moyen-Orient se resserre, les analystes soulignant la baisse des volumes de pétrole en mer et le déclin des stocks en Chine.

POURQUOI C'EST IMPORTANT

Pour les traders, le plus grand risque réside dans la réaction de l'Iran face à ces nouvelles sanctions. Toute perturbation supplémentaire autour du détroit d'Ormuz pourrait rapidement raviver les inquiétudes quant à l'approvisionnement mondial en brut et sur le prix des carburants.
