Il mercato globale del petrolio diventa ribassista mentre l'offerta del Golfo torna a ruggire

I crescenti flussi di greggio attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz e le aspettative di una maggiore offerta regionale stanno spingendo al ribasso i prezzi del petrolio.

I prezzi del petrolio hanno esteso il loro calo giovedì, scendendo a livelli che non si registravano da prima dell'inizio della guerra in Iran. Il greggio Brent per la consegna di agosto è sceso di 1,08 dollari, pari all'1,46%, a 72,66 dollari al barile. Il West Texas Intermediate (WTI) statunitense è sceso di 84 centesimi, ovvero dell'1,19%, a 69,50 dollari al barile. Entrambi i benchmark hanno raggiunto i livelli più bassi dal 27 febbraio.

Il Segretario all'Energia degli Stati Uniti Chris Wright ha dichiarato che i flussi di petrolio attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz si stanno avvicinando ai livelli pre-guerra, con almeno 20 milioni di barili transitati attraverso il passaggio nelle ultime 24 ore. Ha sottolineato che la completa normalizzazione potrebbe richiedere diverse settimane mentre continuano le operazioni di sminamento.

Gli analisti affermano che le spedizioni in uscita dal Golfo si sono riprese più rapidamente rispetto al traffico in entrata, poiché gli assicuratori e le compagnie di navigazione cercano ancora maggiori garanzie di sicurezza.

Ulteriore pressione è derivata dalle aspettative che l'Iran possa aumentare le vendite di petrolio a seguito di un allentamento temporaneo delle sanzioni statunitensi. Tuttavia, Goldman Sachs ha dichiarato di non prevedere un forte aumento della produzione iraniana anche se l'allentamento delle sanzioni dovesse estendersi oltre il 21 agosto.

Nel frattempo, secondo quanto riferito, l'Iraq sta valutando tutte le opzioni, inclusa una potenziale uscita dall'OPEC, se la sua quota di produzione non verrà aumentata in modo significativo.

Sul fronte geopolitico, l'Ucraina ha dichiarato di aver colpito un deposito di petrolio nella regione russa di Krasnodar e due raffinerie nella regione di Ufa.

REAZIONE DEL MERCATO

I titoli energetici hanno subito pressioni a causa dell'indebolimento dei prezzi del greggio. Il calo dei prezzi del petrolio ha anche attenuato i timori legati all'inflazione, mentre i mercati finanziari più ampi sono rimasti concentrati sugli sviluppi in Medio Oriente e sui segnali relativi alla politica dell'OPEC.
