Attacchi dell'Iran, picco del petrolio, crollo dell'oro - Tutto in un solo weekend

L'aumento dei prezzi del petrolio e le crescenti aspettative di tassi di interesse statunitensi più elevati esercitano una nuova pressione sull'oro.

Lunedì l'oro ha esteso il suo calo dopo che la rinnovata azione militare tra Stati Uniti e Iran ha spinto al rialzo i prezzi del petrolio, sollevando preoccupazioni sull'inflazione e riducendo la domanda del metallo prezioso.

L'oro spot è sceso dello 0,6% a $4.062,89 l'oncia, mentre i futures sull'oro USA con scadenza ad agosto sono scesi dello 0,5% a $4.077,50. L'oro è ora sulla buona strada per il quarto calo mensile consecutivo, in ribasso del 10,4% nel periodo.

L'ultima serie di perdite segue i nuovi attacchi lanciati sia da Washington che da Teheran durante il fine settimana. L'Iran ha lanciato missili e droni contro i siti militari statunitensi in Bahrein e Kuwait dopo che il presidente Donald Trump aveva avvertito di gravi conseguenze nel caso in cui l'Iran non avesse rispettato l'accordo per porre fine al conflitto. I mercati stanno attualmente scontando tre rialzi dei tassi della Fed quest'anno, con circa l'80% di possibilità di un altro aumento a dicembre.

Gli investitori sono ora concentrati sul rapporto sull'occupazione ADP e sui dati dei nonfarm payrolls statunitensi di questa settimana, che potrebbero influenzare le aspettative sulla futura politica della Fed. Secondo l'analista di KCM Trade Tim Waterer, l'oro potrebbe tornare al livello di $5.000 nel corso di quest'anno se le tensioni geopolitiche si allenteranno, il petrolio tornerà ai livelli pre-conflitto e il dollaro USA si indebolirà.
