Il presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump ha dichiarato lunedì che è improbabile che l'Iran accetti l'accordo che ritiene necessario per porre fine alla guerra, insistendo sul fatto che a Teheran non deve essere consentito di ottenere un'arma nucleare. I suoi commenti sono giunti mentre i negoziati rimanevano in una fase di stallo e le tensioni intorno allo Stretto di Hormuz crescevano.

DETTAGLI CHIAVE

Trump ha affermato che gli Stati Uniti non intendono prorogare un accordo provvisorio raggiunto con l'Iran a giugno. Il memorandum chiedeva la fine immediata e permanente delle operazioni militari e concedeva a entrambe le parti fino a 60 giorni per negoziare un accordo finale.

Tale scadenza è scaduta lunedì.

Trump ha anche dichiarato a Fox News che l'Iran "dovrebbe alzare bandiera bianca di resa". In precedenza, ha ribadito su Truth Social che impedire all'Iran di ottenere un'arma nucleare rimane il suo "obiettivo numero uno".

Separatamente, l'Oman e l'Iran hanno lavorato per ripristinare le spedizioni commerciali attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz. Trump ha avvertito che gli Stati Uniti potrebbero bombardare l'Oman se interferisse con tali sforzi.

REAZIONE DEL MERCATO
