Die Sorte Brent verbilligte sich bis 04:16 GMT um 1,19 $ oder 1,48 % auf 79,38 $ pro Barrel. Zuvor waren die Preise im Zuge der Spannungen um die Verhandlungen und neuerlicher Sorgen über die Straße von Hormus auf 82,30 $ gestiegen.

US-amerikanische und iranische Vertreter beendeten ihre erste Gesprächsrunde im Rahmen eines Memorandums, das eine Verlängerung eines fragilen Waffenstillstands um weitere 60 Tage vorsieht. Der iranische Außenminister Abbas Araqchi erklärte, die Vereinbarung enthalte Ausnahmeregelungen für Öl- und Petrochemieexporte, die Freigabe einiger eingefrorener Vermögenswerte sowie Pläne zur Unterstützung des Wiederaufbaus und der Entwicklung des Irans.

Analysten schätzen, dass letztendlich bis zu 1,5 Millionen Barrel iranischen Rohöls pro Tag auf die internationalen Märkte zurückkehren könnten, sollten die Beschränkungen weiter gelockert werden.

Unterdessen wurden in der vergangenen Woche Berichten zufolge mehr als 25 Millionen Barrel iranischen Öls über die Schifffahrtswege am Golf transportiert. Auch die VAE, Kuwait und der Irak haben ihre Lieferangebote erhöht, während der Irak plant, seine Produktion schrittweise wieder auf 4,2 bis 4,3 Millionen Barrel pro Tag anzuheben.

MARKTREAKTION

Die Sorte Brent fiel nach Abschluss der Gespräche unter die Marke von 80 $, während der aktivere August-WTI-Kontrakt um 21 Cent auf 75,64 $ pro Barrel nachgab. Energiehändler verlagerten ihren Fokus von geopolitischen Risiken auf die Möglichkeit eines stärkeren Angebotswachstums.
