Gegenüber Fox News sagte Trump zudem, der Iran solle „die weiße Flagge der Kapitulation hissen“. Zuvor hatte er auf Truth Social bekräftigt, dass die Verhinderung einer iranischen Atomwaffe sein „Ziel Nummer eins“ bleibe.

Unabhängig davon bemühen sich der Oman und der Iran um eine Wiederaufnahme der kommerziellen Schifffahrt durch die Straße von Hormus. Trump warnte, dass die USA den Oman angreifen könnten, falls dieser diese Bemühungen behindere.
