Um novo acordo entre os EUA e o Irã pode aliviar as tensões em todo o Oriente Médio, reabrir rotas de energia importantes e preparar o terreno para negociações mais amplas.

De acordo com autoridades dos EUA, o acordo será assinado formalmente na Suíça na sexta-feira. O acordo permite que o Irã retome as exportações de petróleo imediatamente, enquanto os EUA suspenderão o bloqueio aos portos iranianos.

O Irã também restabelecerá o tráfego marítimo pelo Estreito de Ormuz, uma das rotas de transporte de energia mais importantes do mundo. O presidente Donald Trump disse que o acordo garante que o Irã não obterá uma arma nuclear, embora as negociações detalhadas sobre o programa nuclear de Teerã continuem durante os próximos 60 dias.

O acordo poderá vir a resultar num alívio mais amplo das sanções, na liberação de ativos congelados e num fundo de reconstrução proposto de US$ 300 bilhões apoiado pelos estados do Golfo, caso o Irã cumpra compromissos futuros.
