Social Trading V3

Social Trading

1. What is Social Trading V3?

Social Trading V3 is TradeQuo's third-generation copy-trading system built for MT5. It comes with a revamped interface and gives Leaders more say over how their own performance fees are set. The biggest shift in V3 is the fee calculation itself: rather than charging per trade like before, V3 now defaults to the High-Water Mark (HWM) approach.

2. Do I need to open a new account for Social Trading V3, and how would I do that?

Only if you're planning to follow someone new or want to attract new followers. Any existing follow relationships, whether you're the one following or being followed, carry on unaffected, with zero action needed on your part.

To set up a Social Trading V3 account, log into the Client Portal, go to Platform, pick MT5, then select Social Trading V3. Your credentials for the new account will land in your registered inbox.

3. What currency do these accounts run in?

Social Trading V3 accounts are exclusively in USD.

4. Am I allowed multiple Social Trading V3 accounts?

Yes, and there's more flexibility here than most expect. You're allowed up to two accounts, but here's the real advantage: one single account can operate as a leader and a follower simultaneously. It can also follow several leaders at once. So you could dedicate one account to leading and another to following, or run both roles from one account while spreading your follows across multiple leaders - it's entirely up to you.

5. How exactly does the High-Water Mark fee work?

Picture it like beating a "personal best", except it's measured from the leader's end, since it's the leader who earns this fee. As a leader, you only collect a performance fee once your signals push a follower's balance past its all-time peak, known as that follower's high-water mark. If the follower's account is merely climbing back from an earlier dip, that recovery isn't treated as fresh profit, so no fee kicks in until the balance clears that prior peak.

In other words, the leader must fully recoup the follower's loss first. Once the follower is back to breakeven, fees resume, but only on profit earned above that previous high point.

6. What fee applies by default?

35%, based on the High-Water Mark method outlined above. Charges are applied daily, weekly, or monthly depending on how the account is configured, meaning it's not deducted trade-by-trade. This replaces the former default of taking 15% from every single winning trade, regardless of the account's overall performance.

7. As a leader, can I customize my fee?

Absolutely. Your account settings let you set and modify your own performance fee up to 35%, no extra steps required. Want to charge above that threshold? Get in touch with TradeQuo support to arrange it.

8. What exactly is the Impact Fee?

It's TradeQuo's standard 1% platform fee, applied here just as it would be on any other account type. It's triggered specifically when a performance fee gets charged from a follower's account.

9. Are there restrictions on naming my Leader profile?

You can change your display name, avatar, and profile summary as often as you like. Just one restriction applies: neither your display name nor your summary can contain personal identifiers - your real name, your company's name, or anything else that could identify you. This rule applies across every Leader on Social Trading V3.
